Yes. Mostraumen cruises leave central Bergen and usually take about three to four hours. Nærøyfjord, Flåm and Hardanger are much longer full-day journeys.
Official visitor information gives about 2.5 hours by car, 3 hours by express bus, 3 hours 45 minutes by train and 5.5 hours by scenic boat. A return tour is therefore a long day.
No. Bergen is the departure city and gateway. Mostraumen is reached by sailing through Osterfjord; Nærøyfjord, Flåm and Hardanger lie well outside the city.
It has local swimming places, mostly rocky and with cold water. Nordnes, Sandviken and Helleneset are bathing spots, but Bergen is not a classic sandy-beach destination.
